Emergency Outpatient Mental Health Services for children and adults are available during regular business hours (8:00 am- 5:00 pm) Monday through Friday at all LMHC Offices. A mental health professional is available to provide services when a mental health emergency arises. To access emergency services during regular business hours, contact the office nearest to you.
LMHC, in collaboration with a number of other agencies, offers 24-Hour Crisis Services. You can reach these services by calling the center’s toll free # at (800) 223-4512. The Mobile Mental Health Crisis Response Team is available to respond to your needs at any time of the day, any day of the week.
Mobile mental health services are short-term, face-to-face services designed to restore a person’s functioning level to pre-crisis levels. Mobile mental health crisis response services offer opportunities to de-escalate a situation or problem and to help people develop individualized strategies for their future concerns. Services are available almost anywhere in the community.
Mobile Mental Health Services are available to adults, children and families in Clay, Otter Tail and Wilkin Counties. This service is free to all individuals in these counties. If an individual calls in crisis from another county, the call is connected to the crisis services dispatch number in that county.
Individuals can access services if an individual is experiencing out of control behaviors that place themselves at risk of harming self or others, expressing thoughts of suicide, or just when you don’t know what else to do. If an individual has attempted, or is in immediate risk of attempting or completing suicide, call 911 immediately.
A team of two mental health responders will meet with the individual where they are at. Once they arrive, they will provide a crisis assessment, develop a crisis treatment plan, stabilize/de-escalate the individual and provide coordination of services with other community resources.
The goal of these services are to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, reduce incidents of individuals being removed from his/her home, help individuals stay connected with ongoing services and to connect the individual with other resources.
