LMHC began providing services in Douglas County in July 2009. LMHC’s Alexandria office located at 702 34th Ave East in Alexandria.

The staff at the Alexandria office specialize in outpatient services for children and adults of all ages, and children’s outreach services. Services consist of Individual and Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychiatric Assessments, Medication Management, various Psychological Evaluations, Children’s Therapeutics Support Services and School Based Mental Health Services.

Emergency mental health services are available during business hours in all LMHC office locations for adults and children.On evenings, weekends and holidays, the Mobile Mental Health Crisis Response team can be reached by calling (800) 223-4512.

Michael Flaten, MS, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Clinical Specialties: Mike Flaten provides individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and adults with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Adjustment Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Self-Esteem Struggles, Abuse,Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other mental health disorders. Other areas of focus are family therapy for couples whom struggle with relationship issues and parent/child conflict in families.

Laura Goraczkowski, MSW, LICSW

Clinical Social Worker

Clinical Specialties: Laura Goraczkowski provides individual therapy to client’s ages six and older with a variety of mental health concerns. Some of Laura’s areas of interest include post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, adjustment and mood disorders. Laura is trained in trauma and able to provide Brainspotting and EMDR therapies that utilize an evidence-based approach to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Laura also provides clinical supervision for county case managers.

Nurse Practitioner

Clinical Specialties: Provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management services to children, adolescents and adults 10 years of age and older. Her areas of interest include Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Mood Disorders and other women’s health and adolescent diagnosis. Elizabeth’s services are provided via Live Link psychiatry.

Timothy Rasmussen, M.D.

Psychiatrist

Clinical Specialties: Dr. Rasmussen provides psychiatric services to 17 and up. He treats a variety of mental health disorders such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD), Bipolar, and Schizophrenia Disorders.

Patricia Dumont, MSW, LICSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Clinical Specialties: Patricia Dumont provides teleahealth services to individuals 12 years of age and older. Her services includes therapy for individuals, couple and families who are experiencing a variety of behavioral health concerns. Patricia has a passion for serving adolescents. She has strong success with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques to move clients toward behavioral goals.

Whitney Mariah Rizzo, MS, PMHNP-BC

Clinical Specialties: Mariah is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She provides psychiatric assessments, medication management and follow up for children, adolescents and adults. Carolyn Giannone, Ph.D. LP, CASDCS

Licensed Psychologist

Clinical Specialties: Dr. Giannone is a certified autism specialist, and approaches evaluations and therapy from a neuroaffirming lens. She conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations for ages 2 through adulthood, including assessment for Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, clarification of mental health diagnoses, and overall evaluation of cognitive strengths and weaknesses. Dr. Giannone also provides therapy services to clients age 4 and up. Therapy approaches and modalities include Brainspotting (a trauma treatment focused on processing and releasing the neurophysiological sources of symptoms), DIRFloortime, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Jane Wilka-Pauly, MA, LPCC

Professional Clinical Counselor

Clinical Specialties: Jane Wilka-Pauly provides therapy to individuals 18 years of age and older who are experiencing a variety of mental health symptoms. She is dually licensed as both a professional clinical counselor and an addiction counselor. Jane has experience with working with individuals who have co-occurring disorders in both mental health and substance use.

Nicholas Larsen, MS

Nicholas Larsen provides individual therapy to client’s ages 15 years of age and older for depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, phobias, life adjustment, and a variety of other mental health concerns. Nicholas is a trauma specialist and able to provide EMDR therapy, an evidence-based approach to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. His services are provided under direct supervision of a licensed professional.

Clinical Specialties: Dr. Michels is a Board Certified Psychiatrist who conducts psychiatric evaluations, prescribes psychotropic medications and medication management for a wide range of psychiatric disorders via Live Link psychiatry.
